œKiyomunezuka Roji, Kusatsu city, Shiga prefecture

Taira no Kiyomune, who became a captive with his father, Munemori, by Minamoto no Yoshitsune who defeated Heike at the battle of Dannoura, was decapitated in this place on his way to Kyoto from Kamakura.

There is a stone monument being said to be Taira no Kiyomune' tomb of the torso and it is saved and held a service. There is the big tree of Quercus variabilis (150 years years old) and the nettle tree (100 years years old) on the left side of the gate of the residence.
